People have started to take picture of their dishes & of themselves in luxurious places. As any luxury good gastronomy has a symbolic function allowing people to fulfill belonging, esteem or self-actualization needs.
Gastronomy used to be a luxury until 20th century. This experiential luxury has become a”populence “.
WHAT'S GASTRONOMY ?
Gastronomy is different from cooking. True education & know-how-to-be, gastronomy is related to meals. From the selection of products and recipes, to the art of setting the table and pairing the dishes with wine historically, so many people are involved in each meal. Farmers, wine makers or brewers, artists, craftsmen, cooks, waiters all together to make you live memorable moments in restaurants or at home.
Since 2010, the gastronomic meal of the French has been inscribed in UNESCO’s cultural heritage. Why is gastronomy so important to French and how important is it both in personal & professional life ? Let’s talk together.

In 2016 I had the opportunity to become a TEDx speaker. It was the best way to understand why I quit luxury brands to become an entrepreneur without any experience or strategy. The answer is PASSION.
I created a blog in 2012 awarded by ELLE that revealed my passion for gastronomy. This passion awakened happy childhood memories of family meals. Beyond business issues, Populence Academy aims at promoting the simplest happiness in the world : sharing a meal with loved ones.
